Need some opinions on my next GS

I'm considering getting a watch with 9SA5 movement in Evo 9 case. SLGH003 is on my watch list, I love the brilliance Blue and striking red accents. But my friends and family members think it looks weirdly blue and look like a "Uncle" watch. The other one is Black Birch, SLGH017; love the texture dial and color more than SLGH005(White Birch). But I find it a little too attention-seeking. But what do you think? Which one would you prefer? Am I, too a Seiko fan to love SLGH003? To be fair, it did take a bit of time before it grew on me, and I love it because of its subtle blue and being a 60th Anniversary label.

Get the one YOU like. Your family isn’t wearing the watch.

I love the blue. I almost got this, but went for the lake suwa instead. This blue is one of the brightest in GS from recent memory and it's quite eye catching. Sometimes looks dark and discreet.

Go with the blue one! I love that color!

I think the black birch is uniquely casual for grand Seiko. Most of their watches lean in the dressy direction, this one would look right at home in shorts and a t shirt. The blue is nice but the color clash might be difficult to match with outfits, if that is important to you.

It really is, how would I put this, Seiko-y. It their style of trying to establish a unique combination for their 60th anniversary, which is significant for them because 60 represents a complete cycle in term of time.

Thus they wanted to release something new for this milestone: the evolution 9 case and 9SA5 movement.

There aren't many watch in their collection that have red accents, thus making this colour combination rather rare.

But is it really that beautiful? As compared to black birch. Sometimes I really can't tell, but the inner Seiko voice say "go for the blue" 😂😂

In term of their birch collection, I would say their white look the best. SLGA009

Both look great. Get the one *you* prefer.

Night Birch for sure! To topi it off, it's got the new Evo 9 case and the 9SA5 movement!

You should make yourself happy, not ask what would make us happy. But as you are asking, blue sunburst dials are a dime a dozen in Seiko land and every other watchmaker from here to the horizon. I see nothing interesting about it. The birch dial IS really interesting, however, and of the two, is the obvious choice. By a country mile. It just depends on whether you want to wear it or not, based on your appraisal of it.

The bad thing about textured dials is the similarity in texture to where the 2's come from. Birch but looks like butt.

You already know the right answer!

Take a look at the Momiji would be my 2 cents. Most beautiful GS dial I’ve ever seen.
