Tiffany Green Nautilus Mod
I got this last Thursday from James (@jnjmoddesigns). When we first talked about him making a mod for me about two months ago, I was looking at a 60s style Submariner. But ever since I tried on the Nautilus at the Patek Philippe Makati City Authorized Dealer in February, I just couldn't get over how much I love this design and how it looks on my wrist.
So, I asked James to do a Nautilus for me instead.
Yes, it's a homage or a mod or whatever you want to call it. Yes, it's not the real deal. But I got it anyway because:
1) I would've needed 90k USD for a Patek Philippe Nautilus. I don't have that kind of money.
2) Even if I had the 90k, the waitlist for the thing is 5 years.
3) Even if I were willing to wait 5 years, I couldn't even get into the list because the AD said they stopped taking names due to the long list they already have.
4) Even if by some miracle they open up the waitlist and they put me down on the list, I wouldn't get the call because I need purchase history with Patek to be seriously considered being offered a Nautilus.
5) Even if I buy a Calatrava (around 35k, which I don't have) to establish purchase history, that won't be enough. I need to spend around 89k (two Pateks) to have THE HONOR AND PRIVILEGE of being sold a watch that won't be ready for until 2029.
6) Even if I decide to go gray market, well, see number 1.
All of that for a watch?
So, yeah, I opted for a mod. Thanks to James. I'm quite happy with it.

Then only difference is that my does not say Seiko because the logo fell off during dial delivery. I actually like it better that way.
I'm sure enough that there are lots of people that they would agree with your decision to get this homage. I really like the Nautilus but I just can't afford it, but I got myself one of the homages as well and I'm very glad for this watch, I like it a lot and gets a lots of wrist time 👌🙂
