Pawn Shop Find

One of my favorite things is looking for watches at pawn shops, estate sales, and places like Goodwill. Every town my wife and I visit when we travel I drive her nuts by dragging her to thrift shops and the like.

I found this “little” guy at a pawn shop last March. They were asking $360. I got this and a Casio Gulfman both for $240.

I left the Citizen at my jeweler’s for a bracelet adjustment and when I got it back the crown was bent and it wasn’t running. Apparently a capacitor went bad while it was being adjusted, not sure what happened to the crown but my guy fixed it, no charge. Solid guy!

The Gulfman’s light didn’t work so I took it apart and reset the contact. After reassembly, it worked like a charm.

Now I have two watches that I love for a steal and I wear them both frequently.

That’s a very busy dial! Still, a very cool piece!

Very busy!

That's a watch that has been on my radar for quite some time. I have to get it before it gets crazy expensive.

I couldnt find the hands for a moment. Hell of a pickup though.

Nice work

Learning to set it was tough! I dig your colors, that black dial is sharp.
