Rado Golden Horse Chronometer

This is quite a rare bird! A COSC Golden Horse! I’m not sure how many of these were produced, but I have only ever seen two. And I bought one of them.

36mm on my 7.5” wrist.

Does anyone else have one of these? Please post pics and info!

My favorite line Rado makes. Golden Horses are so beautiful. I think I want to own one at some point.

They are some of my favorites as well! Look back at my profile as I have posted several here and have several I haven’t posted yet.

That’s the first COSC Golden Horse I’ve seen, and it’s absolutely fantastic! Congratulations! Sorry I don’t have any info to offer. My Golden Horse is only a couple months old and isn’t COSC certified, but it does run +- 5 sec/day (luck of the draw).

Wonderful collection btw, also in Ga. Hello neighbor

Thank you! I agree. These things are quite scarce!

I agree! They have such a deep back catalog it boggles the mind. I’m ok with that as I will enjoy the low prices until everyone else catches on!

Dammit, now I’m looking at vintage Golden Horses on eBay again

The good news is there are plenty out there! My two best eBay sellers in Japan are closer0924 and myshopjapan. I have bought from the both several times with no problems.

Japan is the wonderland of vintage Rados.

That’s got to be 1960’s? I’ve never seen a Rado bracelet like that either. Magnificent find!

Thanks, ya I’m still working on the year.

I just thought it was different

Very sturdy. Something my dad would have worn in the 60’s/70’s

I have found that info on older pre-internet Rados is very hard to find.

There are some models where only a few examples remain in the world. Exceedingly rare. I believe this watch falls into that category.

And the only documentation for future collectors is what we post here.

If you haven’t already, please do a post that contains the reference number (if you know it). That would be very helpful!

Wow that's gorgeous! I do have a Golden Horse but it's modern and not COSC certified. Really like Rado and they're overlooked by most people in the USA. It makes me like them even more. 😃

I threw in a few pics of my DiaStar as well. They are both just amazingly beautiful. I find the DiaStar a bit overboard for me though and will be selling it soon.

Magnificent pieces! I have that blue Golden Horse as well!

I’ve never seen a Diastar in person. So you’re not digging that one?

I actually really love it. It just feels very fancy and I don't really have occasions where it seems to fit in. I will be sad to see it go but I have only worn it twice so I don't see a point in keeping it.

Sometimes you just don’t bond with a watch. Even though it seems like you should.

When that happens to me, I just put them in a watch box and rediscover them later. Sometimes years later. By then my tastes have changed and I then finally bond with them!

Not a bad idea but I am definitely looking to move on. I really love the idea of trading watches with people but I haven't ever found a trustworthy way to go about it unless you know them or can do it in person. Do you know a good way to do this?

Nothing other than to attend a meet up and exchange in person? And bring a timegrapher to verify the health of the piece.

Great idea with the timegrapher!

No problem. I definitely recommend having one. I use mine all the time! Any watch I buy goes on it to verify it’s as advertised.

I have sent more than one back that didn’t run right.
