Jack Mason Strat-O-Timer in flight

Since I bought a Strat-O-Timer I was anxious to take it up and see how it performs its intended role as a pilots watch.

Airplanes can be hard on watches. I have scratched pretty much every watch I have ever flown with. There are all kinds of switches and circuit breakers and clipboards and all kinds of other things easily scratch watches.

I’m happy to report that this watch didn’t receive any scratches I could find. Perfect.

Legibility is also desirable in the cockpit as turbulence and vibration can make reading a watch challenging at times.

It did well here as well. The indices and hands were easily legible.

All in all it functions as a great aviation tool. I’m quite pleased with it.

Love seeing those tools out in there natural/designed habitat. I think they are happiest there🥴

I agree. Seeing them actually be used as tools always interests me.

Is that a Bonanza I spy?

Can't afford to fly IRL, but my modest Sim rig gets a few hundred hrs of use every year 😇

Good eye! Yes she is. I’ve had her for almost 20 years.
