Wow, that’s crazy! Glad to hear the Citizen held up!

Dropped my automatic on the floor crystal side down. Survived a 3 foot fall and has kept time. Scared the crap out of me.

·

Been fortunate so far. My worst calamity has been a few dings into drywall and doorframes.

·

I used to forget them on when running a jackhammer. Didn't end well.

·

And yet I so much as think about changing a strap and I manage to scratch my lugs.

Dropped my Ernst Benz onto the oak floor in our bedroom. Even though I caught it on my foot to slow the fall, it still had to be sent over the border to the US for repair.

Had it repaired and later sold it.

I wrap my Seiko Kinetic in a cloth, put it in a Tupperware box and then put it in with my clothes in the washing machine, all to wind the bloody thing 😄 😄 😄

1985 ,When I was in the Army at Fort Rucker, Alabama.....I went for a 3 mile run and had my watch (Timex Diver type) . It was mounted on a military nylon band that had velcro fasteners . I had written on the inside of the band "C-11-10 RMH". It was almost faded away. Somehow the watch fell off my wrist and I never even knew it. A few days later, my Sgt. calls me to his office and hands me the watch. It was found by another soldier running the route that I had. He saw the writing on the band and did some detective work. C-11-10 RMH stood for Charlie 11th Company, 10th Battallion Military Police and my initials. I had left that unit 3 years earlier at Fort McClellan. The guy found me thru a military computer search and returned my watch ! I was very happy and thankful for his tenacity ! It was the first watch that I ever owned and bought myself when I was 12 years old in 1975.

Mrs got bounced off the back of my Triumph Speed Twin 1200 on September 5th & got caught up in the back wheel & dragged down the road. Her laft ankle is smashed along with her foot. She's still on crutches

On her wrist was fortunately a Hamilton Khaki King ( fortunate because I'd bought her a Cartier Balon bleu a month before for her birthday & she was going to wear that!) which was clearly dragged along the tarmac - the watch still works fine, no marks on the crystal but a few deep gouges on the bezel. Unfortunately I'm at work at the moment so can't post a pic, but will later if I remember!
