Good Morning Everybody! So, as we all occasionally do in this hobby, a recent article on Fratello has taken me down the rabbit hole of looking serious...
The Moonwatch. It is just such a strong piece. If you can get past the notion that you cannot swim with it (you can - within reason), it really is a super GADA watch. Bonus is the handwinding, really gives you the personal connect with the piece.
A keeper for sure. It is amazing how we can step out of our comfort zone and push ourselves to new heights. I have no doubt that you will remember that experience each time you check the time.

When I first saw the pics yesterday I was a bit "blah". That said, by last night I had put it in my cart and almost pulled the trigger. Not sure though so I did not. It will likely sell quickly.
This may be the ultimate question for many of us. Lifestyle, budget, and general tastes are so different, and they evolve with life. While I have pondered this many times, I have never really encountered one watch that satisfies all of my desires. That said, the closest I have come is with the Bond Seamaster (early model, 2531.80 I believe).
The 1st "nice" watch I owned. Wore it to work, the beach, everywhere. The blue dial on that watch was far more subdued than the current iteration (which I greatly appreciate). You could take it off the bracelet and throw it on a nice suede strap, or even a NATO. It really did cover all the bases.
About a year ago I found a local repair shop that had mint 41mm and 36mm versions that had been bought by a married couple and then traded in. I was so close to pulling that trigger and giving the smaller version to my wife and calling it a day. I did not and regret it.

Agreed, these are two very different watches. My experience is that IF you have the means to get the grail piece, get the grail piece. A Speedmaster is built for a lifetime, and you can do just about anything with it on your wrist. The newer 3861 movement is amazing, and the comfort level of the newer bracelet is outstanding. Best of luck with your decision making process on this, it is never easy!
