This year me and three of my buddies drove drown to Chicago to geek out at Windup Watch Fair. So far, day one was a success and cannot wait to go back today.

I was there yesterday for a couple hours, it was great to have access to so many brands in one place. Got to see the Ferer Halley (when it’s available I will get it!) and Arcanaut, so cool, and so many other great brands. Here’s a few pics from yesterday

I wanted to go badly but sadly couldn’t make it

I hope they do one in Chicago again next year. I’ll be making the trek up from Texas.

·

Wish I could have made it this weekend. Can't wait for next year.

Great show. The turn out on vendors is way more than I expected, with several coming over from Europe, and many micro brands. All that I asked said they were very glad they came. Regarding attendees, I wouldn’t want anymore without expanding the venue. I certainly got watch overload, as if I went through the entire WRUW list several times. The location was perfect. It was a two block walk from the subway stop (CTA), and two blocks from one of the finest breweries in the world (Goose Island).

Tried on a Bella Canto and was surprised how light they are. It was too loud to hear it, so didn’t even try. I decided an Accutron 2020 dna & spaceview are a prefect fit. Fell in love with Elgin and Illinois pocket watch to wrist watch conversions. I wore the biggest and heaviest Flieger wrist watch in the world from Laco, suitable for Hagrid from Harry Potter. Mark from island watches and watch and learn was so popular that it was hard to get into their corner. Jack Mason from Texas was there giving out whiskey or bourbon to people looking at their watches.

I was there yesterday. I was thinking about going back today but kinda like George Bush said on The Simpsons, I achieved all my goals so I didn’t go back.

My wife bought two watches yesterday. I’m not sure I could afford to let her go back. LOL.

Mark gave us a screwdriver with the Islander and the Brew guys gave us a pin remover. I was able to size both for her wrist back at our hotel.

OH man I'd go crazy. Were most of the watches on sale?
