I’m on the hunt

Three years ago, my wife gifted me my dream watch, the BB58 with a black face. Now, I'm searching for my next watch. With a wrist size of 6.5 inches, I'm seeking a sports watch that isn't a diver, has no numbers on the bezel, a white or non-black face, and comes on a bracelet. Additionally, I'm looking for a size range of 35mm to 37mm at maximum. I'm open to vintage watches, prioritizing accuracy and versatility. My budget caps at $2,500. The Oris model pictured ticks most boxes, though I'm uncertain about the green. If I could swap the face with a Father Time one, it would be perfect.

Not sure if you want or don't want a white dial,

But Lorier Falcon II has white dial or black, 36mm

·

Gonna need a car to carry that 35 incher around.

Lol just joking

·

I mean maybe the Wings of Hope or Hank Aaron Oris Big Crown if you can find a used version for the right price? The only draw back with the Big Crown is lack of water resistance.

Nomos Club 36mm (I have the same size wrist and even with the vampire lugs the 36mm Club fits . . . that said, not everyone likes the long lug look or the gap btw. the lugs and strap esp. if it's not a bolstered strap).

Longines Spirit 😉

37mm, great watch, fits all boxes

I think those are in 40mm

Ahhh, such is the plight of the small wrist club.

Damn that white face is amazing. Why can’t I buy it from them though directly? Is the white face ll discontinued?

·

You can check the Tudor Style in 38mm with a beautiful black dial:

Image

Or you check some GS 37mm offerings. You find some great deals directly from Japan in used mint condition.

Image

Another very rare opportunity is the Longines Saint Imier in 38.5mm

Image

A little bit larger than you asked for but I think on your wrist size it will still do the job pretty well.

For reference my wrist comes in around 17.5cm

·

The 17mm lug width and the extreme bracelet taper will make that 36mm wear pretty small. For your wrist size it may only look good when you wear long sleeves.

Amazing suggestions. They seem a bit more dressy.

I need more information here. You think it will look too small? I was thinking it would have a nice vintage vibe.

Yes, sadly but there's a couple on eBay right now

So this is at the top end of your budget, but this may be a good counterpart to the Tudor you got from her!

Shit. You think anyone is making fakes of these lol. I need to use eBay’s Authenticator haha.

So I love Tudor! Love! But I need something different than the snowflake hands to make it feel a little different than my bb58. But I love the value you get out of that brand. I wish the ranger was a little smaller.

You like the Oris Pointer Date ? Want a smaller size ? Want a white dial ?

Image

I have been checking out this ref a lot. Something about the pointer date that is rubbing me the wrong way, but I do like it. I also need to check out the movement.

The funny thing is I like the older movement better 36hour pr than the 5 day one because of the thickness lol. So dumb.

Amazing comment and checked you profile amazing taste! Yeah I have no issue with wearing 40mm and below, more of a look I’m going with (smaller vintage look). For sure checking your recommendations asap!

In that case I think the Oris is a good move in the price bracket but I’d try it on first. Thanks for the compliments! I think Lorier and Baltic both have pretty awesome vintage vibes. I think this is a better option than true vintage because if you’re going for a sport or GADA watch water resistance is a must and true vintage you just can’t count on any water resistant. Let me know what you go with though! Tudor quality will be hard to beat though!

Yeah I love this watch even though the watch community calls it overplayed lol. I say fuck them though lol.

For real? Where do you normally shop outside AD and directly to consumer?

Grey market has this for about 1200 prestige time something of to that effect. BUT word to the wise Oris is difficult and pricey to service.

Beautiful piece man! Wear in good health! I’ve considered getting the BB54 for size but the 58 just seems to be the move. I’ll decide one day.

You mean to use oris services is hard? Huh. I wonder why. Good to know.

·

Good luck! A Rolex 36MM OP is worth a look. Let us know what you end up doing!

so I think Oris will only service pieces bought from an AD (not sure) but most other watch makers won’t touch Oris and if they do it’s $$$$. I got quoted $750 to service my vintage piece ( I expected closer to 5 so I’ll shop around).

Damn that’s wild. So I saw that Oris picture for $1900 at bobs watches and would just be worth spending the extra $500 so they would service it in the future. Good call out!

Yea I might consider buying straight from Oris/ making friends with an AD and getting a discount. But Oris makes some beautiful pieces. But servicing being more than a Rolex is wild

You thinking new retail or used a few references back?

The reason I ask, maybe there is a older but new op out there that you can save some money but still a great watch.

New is $6k but the unknown of the wait.

·

Nomos Club could fit the bill.

Black Bay 54. A diver but fits you.

Ranger 79950.

Yeah on the bracelet, you may not like how effeminate it is. Putting it on a lather band that only tapers down to 16mm will help it have more presence while still getting that vintage vibe.
