Best sub $100 watch

Is the Casio Duro the best watch you can get for less than $100? You can probably find it for less than $50! It packs tremendous value for $ and it looks great! What’s your favorite ”budget” watch?

Personally, my favourite sub $100 watch is this thing...

100m WR, two time zones, chronograph, alarm, timer, and Indiglo.

Oh, and they are available for $55 CAD on Amazon.ca.

I think it is, but I cannot wear it. 44mm is too large. I have its predecessor, the Casio MTD-1010, aka Casio Submariner. It's at the cusp of what I can pull off at 40mm.

If I could wear it, I'd have a Duro. It is the best bang for the buck. It is a solid piece.

Love wearing my duro on a cheap engineer bracelet I got on a steeldive - looks way more expensive than it should!

Quite possibly for that type of watch. Otherwise, there are a few Seiko 5s that fit the bill.

You'd be surprised what you can wear if the lugs of the watch turn down.

Put your arm flat on a desk and measure with calipers where you wear a watch (or draw a mark level with the sides of your wrist and measure it) - even a 6" wrist can have a top measure of over 55mm.

If you find a watch too large try swapping the strap for an elasticated NATO - the elastic nature will allow you to tighten the watch a little without it being uncomfortable.  The NATO strap will conform to your wrist holding the watch in place so it doesnt move around (which makes it feel too big).

Try the above on the biggest watch you own and see the results - it may give you the confidence to wear a larger watch.

Worked for me!

Don't own any watches over the size of 40mm but will give it a try in the future if I do buy one.

Casio Edifice range is pretty good and you might squeak under the 100...

Sorry to be dull but the SNK809 is a great sub US$100 option if you want to go mechanical.  I haven't tried them but Merkur makes some very handsome watches and I think they sit around US$100.

Cannot beat the specs on the Duro, not for street price.

I've been eyeing up the Cooper for a couple of days. How is it? Durable? Also I lije the French Para Strap.

It seems really nice, but I’ve only had it a couple of weeks. It seems very well put together for the price - I wore it solid for a week when it arrived and it was good fun. I do slip it on more often than not, the MN strap is a must. I might do a review if anyone is interested.
