Any New York neighborhoods to be cautious of with an Explorer II?

I think the answer is no (just keep situational awareness etc) but wanted to double check.

Any neighborhoods to be more cautious of with an Explorer II in New York City?

Heading there for a few short days next week with family. Haven’t been in more a decade—it was fine back in the late 2000s and early 2010s.

Will be in T-shirts given the nice weather, otherwise long sleeves would be great cover.

TIA!

No, you’ll be fine. Never have issues when I’m there.

I wouldn’t wear it in Alphabet City

The same advice goes since 1990, don't walk around Central Park at night and you'll be fine. Though you will find that New York has a much stronger Marijuana and urine smell than it did before.

It’s not T-shirt weather in NYC. But if it were, you’ll be fine throughout the city during the day. At night, be aware of your surroundings.

I'm 6'2 and a native New Yorker so I'm on the fearless side... if you are worried, leave it home, if you are a small-town guy that's going to be staring up at the building, leave it home!

·

Damn that's a good looking watch.

·

Wear long sleeves.

I think you’ll be fine. The crime rates are historically low across the country. The media blows all this crap out of proportion.

·

When I used to live there (and I have no doubt that’s still the case), the upper east side was really rough: wouldn’t even wear a Seiko around there!

It's not a blingy watch. I'd be more concerned with a gold day date or GMT Master II, where the resale value us excessive and they catch a lot of attention.

·

I wouldn't worry too much; just be cautious of your surroundings. Try to always walk in well-lit areas and avoid dark streets, especially after being in crowded areas. Enjoy your vacations.

I’d be cautious in NYC period.

I lived there 17 years. During the day in most areas, nothing to worry about. I wouldn’t worry much at night in Manhattan, but just be on the lookout. And don’t wear it to the south Bronx!

On top of the smell of garbage? Sheesh.
