Life after Pelagos - what next!?

I've decided to move the Pelagos on as I haven't been wearing it much these past few months, it deserves to be loved and used.

But... I do need a diver in my life. So... where should I go next!? How do you top or better a Full Fat Pelagos?

Budget is Pelagos used money, max..

Needs to be less than 42mm and >100m WR.

Mechanical or a good quartz considered.

Buy a Pelagos again. 39 this time. 😂

It's the quintessential utilitarian dive watch without bling.

Doxa, Aquastar, Zodiac, Cwc

Marathon.

Or if you wanna get your fixed lugs on, CWC RN or SBS diver.

It is certainly going on the list!

Both have caught my attention in the past. Fixed bars feel a bit restrictive, but in reality, they are perfect for a watch getting bashed around by scuba gear.

Oris Aquis. After that beasty black and titanium, go for something very different - the blue and the green models are gorgeous

First thing to ask yourself is why weren’t you wearing the Pelly anymore. Then ask yourself what detail or feature would make you wear it more. Then you go hunting for the replacement watch.

You could fly to Japan and buy a Seiko King Turtle with the money you will get for your Pelagos! 😉I guarantee the dials on the Seiko special editions will get more notice in public than that of the Pelagos.

Might not be helpful but if your lucky could snag a planet ocean around 3k used

I like where you’re going with this!!

The watch might not be as prestigious as the Tudor, but you could say you had been to Japan! 😀

Depends why it didn’t get in your rotation

Depends why it didn’t get in your rotation

I think size was the main reason - it was great for diving and hiking, but it was a little bulky for general daily wear.

My Explorer and GS SBGN003 are both 39mm and a lot slimmer, and these are now my go-tos.

The 39mm Pelagos is a very real possibility.

Ideally, I'd like a 40mm diver, from an established brand, with a Traveller's GMT function.. for less than £2k.

A couple of interesting options. The hydroconquest fits well and ticks lots of boxes (300m, flyer gmt, micro adjust bracelet).

But I did find the hands a bit hard to read.

But I did find the hands a bit hard to read and it didn’t bring me much joy..

The oris had nothing I wanted, but that case sits fantastically on the wrist. I loved the lumed applied Arabic’s too.. it wore maybe a hair too large.
