Too Big, not for me…or maybe I’m wrong?

This PO is a birthday girt from my mom. She’s not into watches, perhaps knows a bit more about them than most of the people.

Anyway, if it wasn’t for her, I’d never even consider wearing that watch, not to mention buying it. Too big, too bulky, too heavy. Beautiful, but of monstrous size 😊

Then it was given to me and I had no choice but to wear it. And surprisingly, it wears like a dream. I couldn’t be more wrong earlier. It’s still big, bulky and heavy but wears beautifully and I love it. After 18 months with this watch I’m pretty sure what I’m saying 😊

It made me rethink my perception of other watches that I considered unwearable because of their size, diameter etc. You never know how a watch wears until you try it on. Never judge book by its cover, never judge a watch only by it’s specs. Always be open minded and you’ll surprise yourself not once, not twice 😊

Those all are well known truths but we often forget them so I’m leaving a little reminder here 😊

Have a great day All.

Like Moms everywhere - she’s expecting you to grow into it!

Actually the overhead looks fine - from the side it’s really only the thickness that makes this a bit of consideration.

·

Omega definately makes big watches wearable. When i went to the AD, my goal was to try out a few SMP300s. Then tried on a "huge ass" 43.5mm Planet Ocean .... and then another and another ... and ended up getting a blue PO. :)

Absolutely no problem on a 173mm Wrist.

Looks great 💯. I don't see any problems

·

I think it looks fine - great watch as well. 👍🏼

·

I think if you accept it’s supposed to be as in panerai then it’s a cool watch

Gorgeous 😍

YESSSSSS I wish more people would open their mind about sizing. At the end of the day, dimensions are just numbers on paper. I've been surprised by how a watch wears enough times to know you can't just go by dimensions. If people would open their minds about it, they would find a whole new world of watches they previously thought were too big or too small. I have 6.25" wrists and wear watches that are 34-45mm. If I can do it with these tiny wrists, there's no reason anyone else couldn't pull them off too. I'm convinced it's just a mental block for people that have read too much online or watched too many YouTube videos.

TLDR: Open your mind a bit and try some watches you previously thought wouldn't work for you. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised :)

Rock that bad boy!

·

You easily pull off the lug to lug on this one. Keep on enjoying it and wow, what a gift!

·

Looks good on you. I think the only unflattering dimention on this one is the thiccness but hey, a diving chronograph can't be thin.

·

Is it the 45.5mm or the 42mm, I had the PO 45.5mm and loved it, lucky lad, enjoy, it does look slightly big 😊 just my opinion though 👍🏼

·

It is big, but it looks awesome.

I have a similar story. It was my father in law who gave me a watch that, if it were for me, I'd never buy. Too big, to flashy. But I have learned to love it an enjoy wearing it every time!

It’s 45,5. I didn’t mention that I’m pretty tall (193cm) so from few meters away it looks just right😊

So happy you gave the PO a chance. Your mother got it right. The specs on the PO don’t tell the story. Wear it well

Ultimately it's down to your judgement whether it wears well or not. Judging by the looks I'd say that mostly the thickness is a bit of a problem: this is not going to disappear underneath a shirtsleeve. BTW you are lucky that 1wc has not started yet, otherwise you'd be inundated by 1wc tagged posts telling you that this is indeed too large.

Is your mother interested in adopting another child?

·

My single rule: can you keep the watch on your wrist with some degree of comfort? Size has never been an issue until modern times.

·

Looks incredible!

·

Who cares it still looks good on you 👍🏼 Sounds to me you got a really awesome mom 😀
