GMTs

I'm shocked there's no #gmt content yet [EDIT: apparently I still don't understand how to use this site...]

I currently have a Bremont S302 and it hasn't left my wrist for 4 months, great watch and I love the combination of dive bezel and the rehaut having the 24 hour scale, best of both world's if you ask me.

The only thing I would change about this watch is for it to have local jumping hour, I travel some for work and boy is it a pain to have to set local time with it, because of this I've been looking to celebrate a recent promotion (travel comes with it...) with something that has local jumping hour. The 16570 has always been on my list but prices are a bit crazy right now, anyone have any other suggestions for a "flyer gmt" with local jumping hour, or a second hour hand that jumps a la the VC Dual Time or Patek 5524/7234 but without the price tags

Below are a number of top notch options:

  • If you like traditional GMTs, there's always the Omega Aqua Terra GMT
Aqua Terra 150M Co-Axial Chronometer GMT 43 mm
  • The Omega Aqua Terra Worldtimer is an absolute steal at its price
Aqua Terra 150M Co-Axial Master Chronometer GMT Worldtimer 43 mm
  • Otherwise, Grand Seiko seems to specialize in GMTs, either spring drive or hi-beat or regular old 28,800 vph

I just saw the word GMT so I posted away 😉 😊 🍻

I’ve heard good things about the #norqain neverest GMT… https://www.norqain.com/neverest-gmt/

·

I’ve got a GS GMT quartz, love it. I use it for travel, so I like the set and forget convenience of the watch, it’s super accurate.

That has the most impressive quartz movement I’ve ever seen. I decided a while ago that if I ever get a GS, it’ll be the SBGN005 or 003.

·

Funny enough, I compared the SBGN003 and the ATs and walked away with the Bremont after spending what I'm sure felt like an eternity for the AD. All are awesome watches but the SBGN just didn't click with me, no idea why- amazing size, awesome finishing and the idea of never have to set it because of the accuracy was amazing, I may still eventually pick one up but I felt the S302 just had more character to it?

The Omegas just didn't do it for me; again amazing pieces but I had them on for about a minute and spent a lot of time hemming and hawing over the SBGN003 and the S302

I understand I'm being difficult here, not intentionally, and to be honest nothing will scratch the itch of the VC OS Dual Time Everest...

The Norqain seems cool, going down that rabbit hole now

This is mine, and I love it. Very similar to what you have now if you like that style. (Happy hour was ending 😀)

Just looked online, the Bremont is a nice looking watch. I like the rotating bezel. No bad choices here.

All of the caller/traveller GMT talk makes me laugh.  I have worn my 1675 for more than 30 years.  No quick set date.  No independent GMT hand.  No jumping hour.  Modern GMT wearers are spoiled!  🤣

Fair enough, it does seem a bit trivial to complain about having to reset your watch to make it fractions of a minute easier to do...

But that's not why we chase these dragons is it?!

Love it, haven't taken it off since I bought it

In all seriousness the S302 is super solid.

Another one to look at might be the Mido Ocean Star GMT.  Same idea as the S302 (a diver GMT) with 80 hour power reserve and local hour set.

A lot of watch for $1200 if you have the wrist for it.  It is a big one at 44mm.

The Mido is sweet. I think I read that it's the cheapest travelers GMT available? I have the Tudor BB GMT and absolutely love it. But also have a Bremont MB and have always wanted your Bremont or the Endurance for another rugged GMT.
