I would literally have every Smiths watch ever made if I could. You do you! There is something magical about those IWCs on wrist!
Gotta return / exchange it. They have a form on their website, my exchange went pretty quick. Had an issue with them sending me the wrong color.
No issues after that.
My kids have 30mm divers that they swim with, zero issues. Same with my solar quartz and a quartz GMT.

It’s your watch, and know that if you sell it you’ll want to disclose and be upfront…but it’s it’s a keeper, do your thing.
I have taken a GREEN ScotchBrite pad, (taken the bracelet off), and then work in a slow, single direction. I then took Cape Cod pieces and smoothed it over, finally, threw the entire bracelet in an ultrasonic (you can find small ones on Amazon for like $25).
I’ve done it on everything from expensive (to me, over $1000) to daily beaters that were sub $100.
My life doesn’t cater well to high polish ;)
Also, you may want to try throwing it on a leather strap first!
