I CAN’T DECIDE!!

I’m looking to get a new watch sometime this summer, but I can’t decide. I’m looking at either the Timex Q GMT(pepsi)

or the Dan Henry 1962(“Evil Panda” with date).

They are both apealing to me but I would like to get feedback from people who own them to get some first person experience. If I could get some pros and cons of each that would help a lot.

Well, I have no experience with Timex but I do own a Dan Henry 1963. I think the DH watches are very good quality and for the price you get a great watch. So my vote for the “Evil Panda” 👍🏽

Evil Panda!

Summer watch to me means fun bright colors…maybe you go outside what you would normally go for…I have a DH 1970 and I really like it

I have a bias against GMT… so chrono it is.

I love the look of the Q, but I'm not sure you will be happy with the bracelet. I would go for the Dan Henry between the two.

As an owner of a non GMT Q series all I would say is that it's a good looking watch but very faithful to the original 70's designs.

Cons: the regular strap is vicious on arm hairs, the crystal is a delicate acrylic very prone to scratches and the movement ticking has been described by some as quite noisy, add on top of that the water resistance is only 50m and the lume is pretty poor, it makes for a watch that I end up worrying about for scratches or water exposure when I'm wearing it.

Pros: It has a certain aesthetic charm of those 70's watches, however they do an automatic version with the M79 movement in it for a little bit more money and they are generally a little bit more premium.

Get both! You can switch them out. :)

Thanks a lot for the help I really needed it!!

I have the panda version of the DH 1962. On the plus side it has real appeal if you like a watch with a lot of old school Omega and Universal Genève style elements and the period correct size is something you like.

On the cons side are the low legibility, which may be better on the reverse panda, and the useless as f*ck 24hr indicator.
