Deal of the century
I have always been a fan of this era of superocean. This 42mm version has a whopping 1500m of water resistance and is built like a tank. I was browsing delray watch because I am a watch nerd like all off you fine gentlemen and women and came across this Breitling superocean for 1899. In my opinion this is an absolute steal of a watch for that price. This is so much watch for that money both in terms of specs with its modified movment and 1500m or 5000ft of water resistance as well as in terms of brand cache and detailing as your getting a Breitling a true luxury brand established in 1884 that compete not with Tudor but Rolex directly.
In the past I thought these watches were a good price then but now I am positive. This has to be the best sports watch you can buy for under 2k period. But what do you guys think?

I have lost track of all the different Breitling watches that I have worn over the past 3 plus decades, still have 6 in my current rotation: the watches are bullet proof, easily serviced unless you are dealing with their BO1 in house movement. I recommend it highly as long as you do not listen to the noise from some critics who pretend that they know better.

Thank you for your input. I am definitely tempted but I will not buy this myself I just consolidated my watch collection from 17 to 6 to make way for my Starbucks. You know what though I could probably sell my omega seamaster pocket some cash and buy the breitling and not be to sad about it. Hmmmm

That Starbucks is great! 6 watches might be a dream that for me that is not possible. My wife thinks that I should sell off a few since even gifting to our daughters and one son in law is tricky, who gets what? My personal problem is that I really am a fool for Breitling plus the servicing here at the B head office is so professional compared to even Rolex Canada which is obviously first class. I purchased a SMP white dial but it rarely gets worn not in love with the look of the bracelet. Good luck! Personally I would not miss my Omega, might follow your lead to put dollars towards a ceramic AVI GMT watch that I cannot stop thinking about except for the almost 15k cad price for ownership, haha. Solid iconic watch at a great price! Cant go wrong with Breitling. 🔥I recently scored a First Gen 45mm Omega PO for USD600. The seller didn’t know if it was authentic. I checked and told him it is and gave him the market price. He still insisted on his asking price. What a guy. 🫡
