Mirror mirror on the wall, what’s the most Crunchy exclusive watch of all?
A super expensive watch is limited to those who can afford it, but there are a surprising number of billionaires. A limited edition limits the number of owners to the size of the edition. The most exclusive watch is obviously the “one off” or one of a kind. The watch that there is only one of in the world, therefore only one person can have one. In order for a watch to be Crunchy it must have appeal to everyone on the WatchCrunch forum.
So in order to be envied by everyone who participates on this forum, I had a watch custom made for me. The edition is limited to 1. It is customized to my liking. The base watch is a Berny (named for that famous watch making city in Switzerland) supercompressor style dive watch. It has a 42 mm stainless steel case with a sapphire crystal over the dial and sapphire display exhibition back covering the Miyota 8205 automatic movement. Patek Phillippe could not provide a movement within our tight time table and had to be released from this collaboration. The watch thickness is 14 mm and comes on a 20 mm wide mesh bracelet. The Berny watches come in black, white or yellow with matching decompression rings or you can mix and match colors as I did. The time setting crown is a screw down type and are both crowns are decorated in the cross hatch pattern as were the original ESPA’s produced from the 1950s through the 1970s. The screw on back is notched for removal by spanner and has been engraved to denote the celebrity for whom the watch was created. The pièce de résistance is the WatchCrunch logo centered on the dial at 6 o’clock.
The watch is called the Berny Bland Complication Automatic Compressor Limited Watch Crunch Edition Dive Watch Reference AM7081M-001 also and forever after known as the “Berny Crunchy One.” There is finally a dive watch in my collection and it is something special.
