You always wear a back up and know your bottom time before diving.
Sure, you use your computer but if it fails.... 😀
Must have a bottom timer or dive computer on other wrist as redundancy measures, I used to dive with my omega smp but remembered it was nearly 30 years old with no service.. so I stopped
