Date or No Date…that is the question.

Mass debate on a Sunday 😏

I generally prefer No Date because generally the execution of the date window is quite awful. To illustrate, two of my own watches:

But a lot of watches come standard with a date function (i.e. a LOT of divers), in dress watches it's somewhat easier to find some without.

I just love the clean look of a simple no date three-hander with indices:

So for me it would be the no date Polerouter (bottom left)!

Agreed….it is all very dependent on the execution, position etc.

I don’t mind a date at 6 just because I’m a sucker for symmetry.

Oh and good choice btw 😬👍🏼

No date - a superfluous complication for anyone with a decent memory 😂 & especially annoying on diver's!

If it absolutely has to have one 6 or 4.30 are the best positions because they're easiest to ignore...

But I'm not a fan of complications anyway, prefer a basic 3 hander - dates look ok on chronograph's and more complex dials, but not my style.

Date is a must for me. Even while I hold my stupidly expensive phone in my hand most of the day, I still check date on my watch. Stupid habit.. 😅

·

I will wear a watch with date more because I refer to it a lot at my job.... "What day is it again?" But for aesthetics alone, the no-date is perfect.

Many times have uttered…”what day is it again?” 😂😂😂👍🏼

Of my 5 (formerly 6 😢) analogue watches, only my orient dress watch has no date

My casio anidigi also has no date but I use the digital portion to act as a day/date

·

Too many watches, no date every time if given the option.

·

I am a 100% no date guy and I am not talking about my love life! I think a date on a watch negatively affects the watch's symmetry.

A man after my own heart… (plus with my crappy eyesight I can barely see it anyway 😂)

Date is probably even more important to me than the time. It certainly was when my phone wasn't working. That said, most date windows are just done badly :(

That's my exact position as well. And some dates are better executed than others.

You would think I would know what the date was, having grown up where everybody had about 20 family and friends' phone numbers memorized.

That said, I can live with a date complication, but I could do without a day of the week complication on 100% of my watches. For example, I'm sending this response on a Thursday. And I Didn't Have To Look At My Watch.
