Been a bit gray for the last few days here, so I wore a red Frank-itizen and one of my Star Wars pieces on #whimsicalwednesday

I love the deep red

I love the red dial! Why is it a frankenwatch? Is it made like a couple of these Seikos that I have come acrossed?

Looking good, Todd. I really should get some colour in my collection 🤓

$30 watch from Mumbai & can't find an example of this model that Citizen ever produced.

Gotcha! I have a couple of Seikos like that. The numbers on the back and dial don't match. If I look for the dials I don't find them anywhere. They look nice though. Not as nice as yours but nice.

It's funny, the journey these (and I) have gone on in the last 2 years...

Bought one thinking nothing of Mumbai (if it never came, it was $30, call it charity), got delayed way past expected arrival date, eBay refunded me, watch still eventually arrived. Used the funds to buy another from the same seller & it showed up. Loved that they were automatic, wore them a fair bit, then I clued in to the frankenwatch aspect and they lost a little luster in the mind's eye.

Now, I'm trying to make sure I'm used to the general size for when I get the Lorier Falcon and these are the same case diameter, so I'm wearing one at least weekly. They're not bad little watches. I'd buy these over an Invicta every day of the week.

That worked out for you. Two for the price of one. LOL I'm pretty much done with Invicta. I have the automatic Sea Dweller homage that runs really good and is built like a tank. It has the NH35 movement in it. Other than that one any quartz movement ones are junk. I have 2 that the movements died in. They are Swiss movements but they have a tendency to short out and burn the solder up right by the top battery terminal. It sucks because I have my Android deep diver with the same movement in it. It will run for a little bit then stop running. I unscrew the crown and pull it out then it starts running again. If I play with the top battery terminal it runs longer.

Good to know about the quartz!

I almost said that I might recommend a quartz Invicta over an automatic one in my post on Sunday, but I've had one of each and the bezels on both are the hardest to turn I've ever experienced. I am done with Invicta.

I remember your post about using one in a project of yours too. If it works use it. Don't let my bad luck influence you. In my experiences I have had better luck with automatics. I'm done with them too though. I'm keeping my one and not buying anymore. I have enough homage watches. LOL

I went and did it. Now I'm a liar. 🤥 I just bought an auction lot of watches and it had this in it.
