Rotary Revelation £229?

Just found this watch and don't think I have seen anyone mention this anywhere.

Like a round dial Reverso for a really low price (cheaper than even the Vario Versa) directly from Rotary

I'm not really a dress watch guy but this will definitely tickle somebody's pickle

Great find!

Doesn't the dial on the wrist side get a little funky after awhile?

Nope, there is a cover for the back face you can see folded out in the first picture

It's a cool idea, but I seem to remember it's very thick which is somewhat at odds with the dress watch aesthetic.

Cool concept, of course, but I don't really fancy either of the dials.

Awesome find, thanks for sharing

It's 12mm thick which seems reasonable considering the party trick

Yeh pretty plain but I know a lot of guys who like exactly that aha

It's all subjective, but I'd personally go for a dress watch in the 5-8mm range. For me 12mm is diver territory.

Technically it's only 6mm per watch you're just wearing two at the same time 😂

Indeed!

I had one of this back in 2018. Bought it from the pawn Shop in Amsterdam 🤗 sold it for 50€ profit 😅😅 still have some regret on my decision

·

The watch brand is in your backyard lol. Love that watch! You dont see very many reversos out there. We don't see a lot of Rotary watches here in US. I own one a Aquaspeed.

Cheers

I would never want to sound snobbish. To each their own.

·

Gorgeous, if it was 2-6mm smaller it'd be great, as it stands it's a touch too large for me given its dressy appearance

For me under 8mm feels too fragile, I know I'm mad but when I had a 5mm watch I was terrified it was gon a snap 😄

I think that's very true for watches over 38mm. I find it's all down to the ratio between diameter and thickness so 5mm thick, 34mm wide watch feels nice and balanced, whereas a 5mm, 40mm+ wide one doesn't.

Rotary used to do lots of black/white dial variants back in the early 00’s which made them a really versatile dress watch (they had a lot of rectangular watches from memory as well)

Interesting watch. Rotary was the first mechanical watch I purchased-back in 2000. It was a hand wound Swiss made elite watch with tonneau case and jumping hour hand. I dropped it and it stopped so got it serviced under warranty. But it kept stopping. So the retailer I got it from let me exchange it for a Seiko Kinetic auto relay. I wore the Seiko for a good few years but never loved it like I loved the Rotary. The Rotary was already discontinued when I purchased it so couldn’t replace it. To this day I still want to own it again. But alas, haven’t found one. Here’s a picture from eBay that I found. But it had already been sold. The search goes on….

That's definitely true. My 40mm invicta pro diver has always felt a tad too thick, but my friends 42mm version looks far more proportional (but the lug to lug is pushing the limits of what my puny mortal wrists can take)

Would you buy same watch with different colours?

Would like a stainless steel one I think. White and blue dials maybe

·

We actually have it cheaper now on the Rotary outlet - the rose gold model is currently £189

Very tempting, I reckon you should send me one as thanks for this free promotion 😉 just kidding ofcourse 😂

I wouldn't mind help from someone on the inside to work out when this was produced though:
