Looking to buy an affordable dive watch (50-70$) Stuck between the Casio duro and a Vostok

I like the look of Vostok watches but some people said that they could have some quality control issues. While the Casio looks more bland to me people say it’s reliable and it looks good if a bit boring compared to the out of the box designs of Vostok amphibias

Duro…mic drop

Vostok's have issues, and the Duro is a tremendous watch.

·

Duro. Full stop. And I’m not a quartz guy but damn if Casio doesn’t make some of the only quartz movements that hit the markers every single time.

Casio

I really like that white dial amphibia! I haven’t seen it before, they have a lot of designs. After other people’s suggestion, it looks like I’m going to get a duro!

·

I’ve had several Vostoks with no problems. I think the QC issues you read about are overstated. They are “quirky” and they are cheap, so as long as your expectations are appropriate, you won’t be disappointed.

Some people find the Duro too big. (I am not one of those people.) Make sure you are OK with a larger watch if you decide to get a Duro.

I do like the Vostok but I'm going have to say Casio. Tough call, they're both attractive choices.

I own both a Casio Duro and a Vostok Amphibia. The Vostok is in my opinion the more interesting watch. And although I have had no issues at all with mine, I would expect QC to be a bit more flaky with Vostoks.

The Duro is just solid. Not trying to be more than it is. Just a good watch for the money.

Although I lean towards the Vostok, I’d say you wil not regret the Duro, and there is a slight chance you might regret the Vostok if there are QC issues.

You can find some Invicta automatics under 70 every now and then in Amazon and Jomashop.

I'm not sure you can beat value for money with my above suggestions,200m, sapphire lenses, Screw-crowns, Nh35 auto movements, all for under 100 quid!

·

As above there are many more choices than just the two mentioned. I only have Vostoks because I like their designs. I've even kept this on its original bracelet (I did change the bezel).

Yeah my biggest watch rn has a 49 mm lug to lug so the 48 lug to lug of the duro shouldn’t be a problem, just worried about how 44mm will look when the most I’ve had on is 40

Yes very true, I like that the duro looks more like a modern dive watch but the Vostok quirkiness is making me second guess which one I should get

Oh yeah! I forgot about the pro diver. I don’t dislike homages so a mechanical dive watch does sound pretty good

In situations like this, I'm afraid the only thing to do is get both.

Oh wow yeah! I have never heard of addiesdive but it sounds like I should look into them more. Those features are pretty insane for close to 100$. It looks like I’m going to get one in the future!

Addiesdive and Steeldive are the same, you can get them with or without the logos, I can vouch for them being worth the money as I still own one and have bought and sold quite a few on, Tandorio is another bargain make to look into, plenty of designs to choose from including a Tuna homage,

Plenty of choice with build quality and specs that blow Vostok and Casio out the water IMO.

Of course!
