I took this picture at a pretty popular sunset location in the Smokey Mountains. Like any crazy watch enthusiast I had to capture the moment with a wrist shot. The elderly gentleman next to me immediately came over and struck up a conversation. He spent the next few minutes showing me how these new “fancy phones” would save the date and time right with the photo. It took me a couple of minutes to connect the dots that he thought I was using my watch to tell the time and not some crazy person taking a wrist shot. It’s a fun memory to go with a nice (for me anyway) pic.
Anyone else have a funny story of looking like a complete lunatic to anyone outside of the watch hobby?

Similar to how people held a newspaper in older photos for the day/date/year; that’s a cool thing for him to have thought.
Oh, that's so kind of him, but also really funny 😂
Also, very nice wrist shot background!
Yeah, it's kinda gross & involves zaratsu polishing, saliva & Windex.
Just kidding, but it's hilarious the boomer thought he needed to educate the whippersnapper on tech stuff
I was in the Smokies this weekend. In this photo I managed to neither focus on the waterfall nor the watch.
Nice shot!
The perfect watch for an explorer. I hope to get one in the future!
Great Explorer and cool pic!
Great watch. I have a quick look around to make sure no one is looking before I take a wrist shot to avoid any weird looks 😂
Good pic & funny old duffer , probably a lovely bloke:)
While sliding a package across the counter at the post office I took a wrist shot of my Speedy using a sheet of astronaut stamps on display as the background. Just then the postal clerk looked up at me and said "You know your package comes with tracking right?"
Good pic & funny old duffer , probably a lovely bloke:)
He was definitely a good guy!
Great watch. I have a quick look around to make sure no one is looking before I take a wrist shot to avoid any weird looks 😂
I will usually wait for complete solitude but I had to shoot my shot in this one!
My neighbors see me go out to do wrists shots all the time.
Man that is absurd ahahhahaah, I usually hide a little when I took pic of my watches I still feel a little stupid🤣
I took this photo at our easter dinner right as desert was being served. More to the point my Mother-in-law's lemon bunt cake. So I proceeded to hold the attention of the whole room while getting a shot for Watch Crunch photography club. I came very near to losing my arm and life. In that order. 🤣
I was out numbered but I got the shot!
That’s an awesome/funny story! Those are the moments we love to remember!
