What watch brand is more underrated

I’m not Asking what brand is better? I’m asking who’s more underrated

I’ve never had a Longines, but I have two Alpinas and they are both part of the “will never sell” core of my collection.

From my experience both are highly regarded by the watch community.

I'm aware of Alpina, but I don't know much at all about them. So I'm inclined to say they're more under-rated (from my limited perspective).

Whereas, I already own one Longines and I'm seriously considering a second (but not this year because I'm committed to No New Watches in 2024).

Totally Alpina. Especially since Longines is everywhere. I own both and I know Alpina doesn't get the love they deserve. Maybe because they have too many watches on their catalog. Both are great tho!

I think Aplina is slept on, hard. Longines is appreciated by watchfam and non-enthusiasts, so I don’t consider it underrated in the least, along with Tudor, best bang for buck — sh!t, my wife knows the brand Longines; if I mentioned Alpina she’d be like “Al who??”

Definitely Alpina, it gets lost somewhere in the orbit of Citizen and Fredrique Constant. Nice watches with their own aesthetics and design ethos. I think Longines has regained a lot of its lost luster with the series of hits it launched in the last few years.

Is Longines underrated? I think they get a lot of respect. Thry make great watches.

I'd say underrated kind of equals less-known, and Alpina is certainly less known than Longines
