I believe the DVD commentary mentions how the watch worn by the grown child had to be an expansion band.
This scene does satirize the ridiculous idea many have of a timepiece being their entire familial legacy.
I've read Bruce Willis requested a flexible bracelet of a certain brand I forgot, because that was his own preference. 🤔It might be just popular lore, though. Little Butch didn't wear the watch in any of the scenes. Some scenes may have been deleted, perhaps.
Realistically, would great-grandfather Coolidge have bought a gold watch for the trenches? I think brass would have been a more reasonable choice, and a better option.
This is one of my favorite ones. Having Christopher Walken do this was icing on the cake. Willem Dafoe or Nicholas Cage could have done it well, but Walken's delivery was perfect.

Would be funnier if it had been an Invicta.

It's especially funny when you recall that Maj. Coolidge died of... dysentery.
Yes definitely 💯 😂😂
Much harder for this 37mm to fit my A** compared with the OG

One of the best movies ever
Love it.😂
If this could of been a diesel watch!!!! Are we done with wrists shots from now on ?
Being the prop for an elaborate bum joke does the Lancet a disservice.
Awesome, forgot how good that part was!😅🤣😅
