What's up with my Omega!?

This is my Omega Seamaster quartz (ref. 22645000). It's been through a lot... And it's still standing, after all this time (see what I did there?). But, problems are bound to occur. Namely, the bezel is originaly unidirectional, but now it appeares to turn both sides. I didn't dare turn it more than an inch not to cause more harm to it. I think it could be the spring that holds the bezel. I was intending on bringing it to a watchmaker to acess the problem. But I'm still not sure what caused the problem. So I ask you, what's up with my Omega?! Help!

It very well could be the retention spring causing the issue. Definetly take it to a watchmaker to get it fixed. That happens to be the primary generation of Seamaster that I like.

Hope you get it sorted! This design is, in my opinion the best seamaster. Enjoy!

I agree, probably a relatively simple external component.

I have the same watch, absolutely love this thing.

That is one good looking Seamaster. The issue is probably the bezel spring, which is a very easy fix for a watchmaker

I own its mechanical sister, the 2254, that is developing the same symptom. Amazing watch!

She could use a good polish.

I have the same watch. Probably time to send it in for a service. I know that hurts to part with it for a while but they will make it like new and replace seals, clean and service the quartz movement and battery connections. And fix your bezel.

Planning to send mine in the near future 👍

I have a sister model to this one (with the standard black wave dial).

It sounds like you probably need a new spring in your bezel assembly. I'd find a good local watchmaker to have them have a look at it - if possible - if not send to an Omega service centre for a service. They'll check and repair everything from stem to stern for you.

The nice part about these models is the service cost is very reasonable :-)

I have that same model. Love the stainless steel bezel. 👍

I had that problem with my bond version of the Omega Seamaster. It wasn’t difficult/expensive for my watchmaker to fix.
