Daylight Savings Time and watch collecting

So, one thing I decided awhile back was to use the fact that I had a pair of quartz watches in my budget sub collection to my advantage.

I’m not sure if A. Everyone already did this and I was late to the idea, or B. I came up with an idea to make DST less annoying, and others might benefit from the idea.

Since one of the great things about having a quartz is that they are a great ‘grab and go’ option, and since I have two, I decided to leave one on DST, and one not. The benefit is that I can always have a watch on whatever the DST status is ATM, and know that these are ‘grab and go’ without ever having to update them.

Anyone else do this, or have I gone over the pier, so to speak?

Yes, with the mechanicals. But having two quartz made me decide to use them this way so that I always have a watch in the proper time without having to change.

I have a number of quartz digital watches and it’s annoying every time I need to set them. Another reason why I bought my Casio GBD, with Bluetooth, so the time automatically changes from my phone.

It’s a nice thing when your watch (or car, which my car does) syncs with and uses your phone this way. But I stumbled onto this idea with my quartz watches purely by accident. I went to set off DST last fall, and it occurred to me that if I left one on DST I wouldn’t have to switch it back in the spring, and I could just use the two watches this way.

Never considered this because I don't mind setting the correct time. Quartz or mechanical
