The only one i'm not getting is Tesla and Christopher Ward. But then I can't think of a better option for either, so maybe you're right! haha

·

Tesla = Apple Watch is more appropriate

That was the final choice I made when I realized I had forgotten Tesla. CW came to my mind first. Idk, I only spent about 10 minutes on this so I imagine I've forgotten/omitted some obv brands. Cheers!

I agree. I didn't think of the Apple device. Because I don't consider it a watch. Just like I wouldn't consider buying a Tesla. So it works!🤣

I kind of object to equating German cars with German watches as the cars are not that ugly and the watches are fairly reliable.

How can you do that to Citizen

How can you do that to Citizen

Not a Ford fan, eh?

·

Omega and Aston Martin…cause Bond, James Bond

·

I feel that Ford and Chevy with Citizen and Timex are reversed. Ford/Timex has some style, but sort of janky mechanicals in the long term. Chevy/Citizen is blandly corporate but will keep running like a cockroach.

I think Omega not upscale enough for Aston.

I can see that.

Rolex => Porsche.

Try getting a sports model from either unless you’re a ‘Special Customer’ 😊

Thanks! That's true. I think you'll find you can't just walk in a pick up a speciale model Ferrari on a whim. The resale tilts it to Ferrari/Rolex for me.

I’ll give you that one. 😊

Casio=Kia, maybe. Not for snobs, and tons of value & quality for the money.

You'd think this thread would be right up my alley but I honestly don't know enough about either to truly decided whether I agree with you on most choices. I didn't even know land rover and range rover were a different brand? I'm wondering though, where's Lotus? Small, efficient, no-nonsense and not too expensive of a car, which would fit nicely with a Doxa maybe?

Sure Lotus = Doxa works for me. I didn't try to be comprehensive, I just jotted down the first ones that came to me. You can add more, anyone can. It's just for fun.

I guess there are multiple angles - are we purely talking brand recognition/iconic names?

I was going down a more holistic rabbit hole - Porsche is luxury, it's exciting, sporty, very well made, famously doesn't change their designs from one decade to another, they can be used as daily drivers no matter what the weather... They're hard to buy, you have to build a dealer relationship to get hold of the hotter models.. There are wait lists, and even 'the call' from the Porsche dealer..

Quite a lot of similarity with Rolex - beyond simple brand recognition.

There are no wrong answers except those that aren't backed up with a rationale. You present a good argument.

Pretty good lineup. I'm a car gearhead but I've never thought of a connection like this. I would like to add Pontiac. I know they are gone but they were GMs performance brand. They had a lot :"firsts," and some very unique cool cars. The also lost their way toward the end (My G8 excepted). I would pair Pontiac with Bulova. A lot of "firsts," high performance for the price, and, with the exception of the reissues and the Accutron line the seem to have lost their way. The new models are a bit over designed and unattractive ( in my view). In the 90s and later, Pontiacs had tons of unnecessary body cladding and everybody remembers the Aztek, which is often listed alongside the Edsel, Vega, and Pinto as the worse cars to come out of Detroit. The current Bulova catalog has its share of Azteks, Edsels, etc. But I love both Pontiac and Bulova for their wins.

·

I was thinking Bulova before I read it. Yes indeed Pontiac = Bulova

Agreed - if Citizen is anything it's much more like Toyota, for better or worse. I think OP has got most of those pairings way off 😕

- Maybe it's that I know too much about cars and just enough about watches to be dangerous 😜

I’m taking your original premise and turning it into a game of “so what does my garage look like then?” 😎

It looks like I own a Mercedes (E63S AMG) that’s parked right next to a Kia (Rio). Striking combo! Further down the garage it would seem as if I’ve parked my off-road capable Jeep (Willy) right next to my fancy Range Rover (Sport Autobiography trim). Very utilitarian of me. A bit further down I seem to have parked my JDM Nissan (GT-R) alongside my Ford (Raptor SVT) which acts as my American domestic every day do it all vehicle. Lastly, situated at the very end of the garage, which is also the portion that connects to my estates living room annex, sits my Ferrari (SF 90 Scuderia in Rosso Corsa) in a glass box so it can be admired from any/all angles 😜👍

Hyundai = ? Maybe hamilton? Because of versatility

·

Pretty good list. I will only disagree in Lamborghini being Hublot. When people can’t buy a Ferrari they buy a Lamborghini; so when that same people can’t buy a Rolex, they buy an Omega. And if Lamborghini is Omega, then Mercedes will have to be something like Cartier
