Is Doxa Cream of the Crop?

My grail watch will never be a Rolex or Omega.

However I've heard many a great tale about Doxa and thought a Sub 200 looked awsome and could be a grail. The Japanese greats such as Seiko, Orient, Citizen and Casio are held in very regards too me ( and many others ) and without hesitation acknowledge these are peak watch brands.

Would you guys say that Doxa is in the same category of build quality and reliability??

I went through Seiko kick for awhile. I primarily had a few Alpinists and 62mas. Once I got a Doxa though I knew I wouldn’t go back. For the money, the quality Doxa delivers is much better than Seiko in my experience.

Most all the Swiss brands in that price range use the same movements so it comes down to taste.

Yes, I would absolutely say that Doxa is known for their fantastic build quality and reliable, relatively affordable watches that are built to last. I generally have never been wild about Doxa, personally. But that all changed several months ago when I saw Jory Goodman's (aka: the time teller/youtube) Doxa sub 200 c-graph ii with the Caribbean blue dial and matching dark blue strap. I fell in love with the same exact watch and should be receiving it tomorrow. It can be had for a little over 2k and is the Speedmaster I've always dreamt about (200m and a diver's chronograph with a ceramic dive time bezel). I'm a little excited.
