The original GADA

Very early on into the watch collecting hobby, I fell in love with the Seiko SARB033. After making enough noise, my wife got the hint and got it for me on my 50th birthday.

For a long time, this was my Go-Anywhere-Do-Anything watch, easily adapting to any situation.

With its sapphire crystal and 100m water resistance, I can wear it with jeans and a t-shirt. But it also slides elegantly under a shirt cuff when you need to dress up.

I put it on a President-style bracelet from Uncle Seiko which, in my opinion, elevates the style factor a few notches.

These days, I have other watches that fall under the GADA category but this is still my favorite. What's yours?

Right now, I have been wearing this Sinn for a couple weeks.

If I have an occasion to dress up a little, then I would grab your watches more fair haired cousin (SARX055).

Love that Baby Grand Snowflake. (That's what they call it, right?)

Whatever I’m wearing at the moment as I tend to keep them on the wrist for 1-4 weeks at a time.

The Shunbun is nice 👍

You are right! I thought I wanted a Snowflake for a while, but this was more within reach. Then I saw a Snowflake in person, and it really didn't impress me as expected. The crystal seemed a MILE away from the dial and made the watch feel really deep/thick to my eyes. Turns out, I am really happy with this version...even more than I initially expected.

The Snowflake broke my heart, too. At 41mm, it just feels too large for my puny wrist. I was so ready to buy it.

41mm seems bonkers to me for a watch that is in the dress category (no matter wrist size). There must be a bunch of giants buying them to keep Seiko producing them.

Even the 38.5mm Omiwatari still felt too big because of the style of case. That one doesn't event come on a bracelet by default so it's even dressier.

My personal preferred dress watch size is 34mm, maybe 36mm max.
