How do you improve on perfection?

For me, the Seiko SKX013 is nearly perfect: the right size, design, history, etc. So how do you improve on perfection?

I switched the original bracelet with one from Strapcode (solid links, etc) and replaced the bezel with a fully lumed ceramic one from Long Island Watch.

The result is a watch that still looks almost exactly ike the original but with subtle upgrades.

Do you have any watch mods you're proud of?

I wore an 013 everyday for years and the only thing that ever made it better was that bracelet. It’s a beast and it looks great! Other than that, single-pass Zulu straps are incredible on that watch and what I use most of the time. I’ve had mine too long to want to mod it now but I do love that lume. Nice Work!

The real OG

The time teller on YouTube mentioned a possible citizen red placement for this model on his latest vid. Very nice.

I also slapped a ceramic bezel insert on my SRPD - greatly prefer the material, although I can't make up my mind whether I prefer the non-stock colourway I went with. (Brown and gold looks handsome enough, but it now has kind of a blingy streetwear feeling that doesn't match my typical dress.)

It's incredible how endless the aftermarket possibilities are! Although I think total overhaul mods are really funny, I prefer parts that keep everything looking like a Seiko dive watch. Improvement on perfection indeed.
