Clock & Watch Museum

I recently visited Lockhart, Texas. I was there doing a BBQ craw. I discovered the Southwest Museum of Clocks and Watches. What a wonderful treat. They had clocks and watches from all over the world.

As most things do, it started with a men’s simple collection of watches that grew into an obsession, and then eventually this museum. It cost five dollars to get in, and the lady at the counter shares valuable knowledge about the origin of clocks and how the museum came to be.

Once you realize that I am a lover of clocks and watches, she pulled out a couple of special pieces. Specifically the skull and bones pocket watch. Very unique!

Lockhart Texas is known as the BBQ capital of Texas. But there is a special gem right next to town hall. If you are ever there, make sure you check it out and tell them Stand Tall Steve sent you.

That’s cool, I had no idea that existed.

Also BBQ crawl? How on the actual hell have I gotten to this age without knowing this was a thing?

Do they have giant clock tower movements running like the NAWCC museum? I loved that as you can really follow the motion because the scale is so much bigger. Oh, it sure looks like they do!

I see that their website mentions it being one of three such museums in the US, meaning I have two more to go to.
