Hey! It might be fun to share stories about people interacting with what’s on your wrist. I’ll start~~>

I’m a host at a mid restaurant. A sharply dressed sub 30yr old came in. He was waiting for a friend.

I spotted what appeared to be a quality piece on his wrist so I asked him about his watch. His already positive demeanor lit up as he said “Black Bay 58”! He was very proud of it and felt even better when I said Tudors are great.

Then he said he was low key observing me with a JDM Casio steel 5600 pattern. He was equally intrigued. I told him I enjoy watches but being of limited means Casio G-Shock to me is a watch person’s watch. He agreed telling me a good friend of his gifted him the very same watch and how much he loves it.

~ the end but share yours! I’m sure we’d love 💕 to read!

I have only complemented twice about my watches. The first one being this. A girl told me this was a nice Rolex:

Had to correct her. But it really looked nice indeed.

The second has been recently while in a flea market searching for vintage watches. In one small street shop the owner asked me about the nice watch I was wearing. He was really impressed:

Only once ever. About 30 years ago! I was rocking my silver dial TAG 2000 series at a work night out. One of the girls who worked for me exclaimed “is that a real TAG?” and went on to admire it. TAG Heuer really were the in thing back then.

My wife and I were one couple along with a small cohort of passengers on a Paris river cruise that agreed to purchase additional tickets to watch a evening performance at the MOULIN ROUGE, easy decision, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Jane Abril, Can Can dancers. One of my favourite old movies about intense romantic love, brilliant art life in the Parisian gutters. My wife and I were separated from our new fun loving Aussi friends instead seated with a middle age American couple who seemed to be not enjoying the river cruise experience. The theatre lights were on when one of the fastest pre performance dinners was served and dishes cleared away before the show could start.( Parisians are reputed to be relaxed about daily work, not these folks, a drilled attack squad could take lessons from the staff at MR!). The husband suddenly commented on my bright yellow dial Breitling Avenger Seawolf and offered to show me his Avenger on a steel pro bracelet. Apparently he knew little to nothing about the brand and mechanical watches in general. The Chronograph was purchased from some duty free shop on one of the annual cruises that he and his wife plan to accompany her aged parents who did not want to experience a special evening at an infamous Parisian attraction. I said that I could tell him something about the famous watch brand not named Rolex if he was interested during days ahead once the cruise started sailing north, he was polite but obviously not. He and his wife seemed to enjoy the show but when the Can Can dancers came on stage to dance their famous dance, certain performers were topless ( my middle school art teacher was the privileged child of Bohemians who told us stories of her mom choosing to perform topless when she was a dancer in Paris, her mom’s history was included seamlessly into our study of Latrec’s brilliant posters. My Breitling watch wearing friend was finally enjoying his Paris river cruise vacation.

I was asked if my Tissot PR 516 was a Rolex. I'm not a liar, so I explained at great length the entire company history of Tissot and my personal experience with the PR 516.

I'm just joking there, by the way, but the interaction really made me like the Rolex Oysterquartz Datejust much more as some models share many design elements with the PR.

I don’t know where Tag lost their mojo. Was it due to a Chinese company buying Tag?

They are an LVMH brand aren’t they?
