Two Watch Day

I was laying in bed thumbing thru WC this morning and saw some Two Watch Day posts and thought that since it’s the last day of the year, why not take a look back and see how far my collection has come over that last decade plus in the hobby.

The one on the left is my first foray in watch collecting: the Swatch Sistem51. I haven’t looked at it in a few months and it’s dead. Just checked a few times and it’s not holding the power reserve.

The one on the right is the Kurono Toki, which came right before Christmas. It’s like wearing a piece of art and different than the rest of my more function first watches.

What is your first and latest watch?

I bought the Citizen back in 2009 after moving back to the States after living in the UK for 2 years. For a long time this Citizen and a G Shock were the only watches I owned. The Aerospace was the last watch I bought back in October of this year.

Multiple complications and 3-6-9-12 layout. Pretty cool.

I dove into the deep end at the beginning of collecting. Probably was not the smartest thing to do haha!

First watches below. The skeletal Seiko reagatta timer skeleton was my first. It got filled with seawater when I dove off a boat with it on. Bought in grade 7 since I was racing lasers and my cooler buddy owned a blacked out Seiko chrono. Rest acquired in high school in the 80s.
