This is one of the limited releases I had the pleasure of trying on during my recent trip to Japan.
My question is am I crazy for not impulse buying this beauty cause fomo is kicking in now ๐
Sorry for the reflections in the photo and its quality

They are stunning but I would say no - not crazy - GS seem to be releasing new watches regularly and so there will be others along. Not sure how limited the release was but this one was 1500 and I was able to buy it 18 months later at a sizeable discount to RRP. Hope you find what youโre after and the wait will make it all the sweeter.
Have to say I admire your restraint!
If there is one thing I have learnt about GS, it is that there are so many models out there, from yesterday through to today. We're completely spoilt for choice, and unless there is a specific model you have to have, I would say: take your time to explore all of the various models before landing on the one which you deem most appropriate for you.
All this to say that I spent the better part of 2022-today learning about GS models modern and vintage. Recently pulled the trigger on a 9F quartz model SBGX053, as well as a venerable 6145-8000 vintage model. Could not be happier and now setting my sights on a Spring Drive for 2025.

Yes Iโll be looking around a lot and window shop them for awhile
I was very late to own my first Grand Seiko watch but after buying my first high beat automatic did purchase 2 more very soon after the original but am taking my time before adding a spring drive, mostly because I prefer steel to titanium. The brand launches so many iterations, I feel that I can be patient. I might miss out on a few but eventually I will notice one to purchase.
You're not crazy. It may be a limited edition but there are still plenty out there. I was lucky enough to try one on but didn't buy it at the time, though it was my favorite of that particular outing.
Impluse buy is rarely a good thing, especially at these prices. But the discount on this one ( especially without tax ) is decent and if you really like it you should go for it. But not because of hype or fomo

Your SBGY009 is gorgeous, I know it's 10 ATM WR unlike the other manual wind SpringDrive models that are only 3 ATM WR, does your watch have a screw down crown or simple push pull crown?

Thank you - pushing the boat out (for me) but no regrets at all.
Itโs a push pull. I think I would have hesitated if it was screw down as thatโs a frustrating combination on a manual wind and - no personal experience - I have heard concerns about undue wear on the crowns with that as a combination.
The WR was also something that I would have held off had it not been 10 bar. Not that I am swimming with it but that extra protection esp. for the movement feels better to me.

GS collecting is quite an addiction, I'm already on 4 LOL

Thanks for confirming, and yes a screw down crown on a manual wind piece would be annoying indeed, just making sure.

I feel your pain or is it joy? Haha!๐
Don't worry, GS drops so many new watches that you will forget this piece ever existed, haha
