Had the bulova sea king that was a beast of a watch and would love to get the moon watch re issuse one day

It’s definitely up to the acquired Taste!
I like mesh straps. They're quite breathable in hot, humid climates. As Sir_Co2 pointed out, they give a very different look than other straps.
I rotate the straps on my watches regularly, and I keep mesh straps in 18mm, 20mm, and 22mm, just so they're an option for any of my watches.
