First NH35 build

First custom build from sourced parts ever for me! Everything was sourced, movement, dial, hands and case. Even the logo.

It will be a gift to my fiancée, but before I give it to her, I will be replacing the dial, hands and rotor with more “rose gold” versions, but still very similar, to match the case. This was more for the practice, and I will post the version 2 when it’s done.

The hardest part was to put on the seconds hand for some reason. It just wouldn’t stay on. 😂

What do you think? :)

And also, what do you think what kind of strap would go with it?

Seconds hand is always the hardest part and takes practice. You did an excellent job sir. There was nothing more special building my wife watches and converting her into a collector 💪🏾

I would put it on a brown, black or dark green leather strap. However, if it's for a lady I would only order "short" straps (160-180mm) to accommodate a slim wrist. A generic "men's" 200mm strap will have too much overhang and ruin the look.

StrapsCo makes decent 160-180mm leather straps for ~$17/u if you want to try out different designs or colors. However, I would order a bespoke strap from TunsLeather on Etsy for $60 if you want high-quality leather and refined stitching for a more luxury look.

Really nice my friend 👌 good job,I don't even like diamonds and I would wear that 💯♥️

·

Brilliant love it .

·

Better with both of your initials on the dial instead of seiko.

·

Beautiful. Great Job Mate !

A nice oyster bracelet in steel and rose gold would look nice.

Her initials instead of Seiko.

A nice hidden message would also be nice somewhere even if its microscopic. :D

Thank you! I will need to practice that part for sure. :)

I hope I will convert her too! :) How long did the process last? 😂

Agree, but I’m not on that level yet. I would need to make it somehow, and these came in 3d! :)

Thank you!!

I thought the same for the bracelet, but I bet it will be very hard to find to fit well for the custom case.

If you know where to direct me for it, please!

She is still a collector. I don’t think she is going back she really loves her custom made watches. She still isn’t into watches like I am but she wrist her watches often from not wearing one at all it’s a big plus. Sometimes even at home just cleaning 🤣

This will turn our great I'm sure :D please keep us posted on the progress. You made me want to start working on something :)

Ali Express seems to have a big variety of bracelets, I'd look there and on Ebay also :)

Think trail and era my friend, just make sure you can return so you don't get stuck with a bracelet that doesn't fit,if you can't find one always straight end link option 👍

Amazing job dude! I love the symmetry. It just works. Did you buy the adhesive Seiko logo or is it applied?

I'd love to know how you got it on so straight. I'm looking to do something similar, but I was wondering if people just eyeball it or what.

Yeah, honestly I just eyeballed it. It is my first time and I didn’t know any other technique. 😅

What I did before placing it though, was to look up photos of other Seiko watches to see how to horizontally align it. 12 hour marker should be pointing right to the “i” in “seiko”.

As a Seiko modder I have to say that is stunning
