Which Bronze watch should I get?

I like all of these, but what does the community like? I know one handers are polarizing, but that is to be expected (and pretty sure Meistersinger doesn’t care one bit), but putting that aside, what draws you in? I love the idea of growing with a watch as it develops a patina. Feel free to add your own suggestions in the comments.

I think I’ve come to terms with the fact that I just don’t like Tudor at all including BB58 . . . Generally not a diver or GMT bezel guy (some rare exceptions if it’s doing something weird or funky).

I'm a sucker for the Oris pointer date, it looks sooooo cool, I'm saving some money to eventually get one

I voted for the CW but wanted to add I like the Tudor Black Bay Bronze because it uses aluminum instead of tin in the alloy, so it patinas shower.

Hot take since this is a watch site and not a fashion site, but I prefer neutral dials in bronze watches since the case already introduces brown to your outfit. Having a blue, red, or green dial on a bronze case in the Oris Big Crown limits your clothing choices, whereas a slate dial with a bronze case is more versatile. But everyone’s got a different style!

I tend to go by strap and don’t really worry too much about dial when it comes to clothing, but yeah there are some dials that I love that give me pause re being a fashion disaster. I often look at Farer watches and say “I wish I was fun” haha . . . I’m a professor and my students once dressed as me for Halloween since I def have a gingham dress shirt and tweed/wool blazer uniform. On the other hand, bold dials can really up a muted outfit? Maybe?

It does look very classic whereas the other two are more steampunky . . . That trident seconds hand though . . .

Yeah I'm thinking if I get a blue dial on a bronze watch, it'll be tough to wear dark green, for example. Yep, bold dials can bring up a muted outfit, eg. white t-shirt and jeans, you can wear pretty much any watch.

These are the problems I can only vent about in forums like this bc most people would be all “the world is burning and you’re worried about what???” Hey, sue me for wanting a handsome watch for the apocalypse.

I think my sudden realization is do I also keep my Seiko Alpinisit if I get the Oris? Sure, they are very different watches in some ways . . . But also very similar and fill the same niche in others . . . The Alpinist is overall more robust as a daily wear, but it’s not like I swim everyday or anything so even splash proof water resistance is plenty. Both have cathedral hands, but Oris edges out definitely with aesthetics with that coin edge and the bronze. The Alpinist has history and a cult like lineage, but Oris is also a strong brand with a history and the Big Crown is nodding at its earliest models. Plus Oris is really becoming “the cool company” in much the same way you might find a guy in their late 20s/early 30s with a twirly mustache wearing a Nomos or a Farer. Tough call. Guess keep both for a while and see which one collects dust.

Tried on a 40mm and 36mm Oris Big Crown today. Think I'll pull the trigger on this particular 40mm . . . the gold/bronze color accents on the dial, the juxtaposition of the bronze ring with the otherwise steel case + that blue dial looks amazing. Will sit with the idea for a while though since I just bought a GS and I do need to space out my purchases before my wife actually says something haha.
