TV shows and watch spotting

This is prob a niche post, but my wife somehow got me addicted to Love is Blind haha 😂 and it’s def a show where all the guys are wearing watches. Over the seasons I’ve spotted Rolex, Tissot, Omega, some dressier Casios, and of course what I’ll call some mall watches. Yes, I’m also eating the drama of the show . . . But also spotting watches.

Of course, shows like Succession are full of watches and folks like Gary Shteyngart and editors at Hodinkee consult for the show. For All Mankind def nods a lot at IWC and Omega. Jerry Seinfeld back in the day was always rocking a Breitling in Monks cafe. Any favorite tv watch spotting moments?.

Last time I saw a lot of nice watches in Under the Banner of Heaven. It was nice to see that almost every character wore one, although I didn't recognize any of them.

2 years ago i didn't even notice if somebody was wearing a watch, now I feel bad if I can't spot the brand and the model

Lol. What else did you spot? I think I remember seeing a gold casio digital watch. What was Jimmy wearing for the tux fitting?

I saw that Casio too… I’ve not watched one where he’s in a tuxedo yet… I reckon it’ll be the same one perhaps as he didn’t seem to have a collection as such… I’d go in with at least 2 watch rolls for a show like that 😂😂😂

I watch M*A*S*H* all the time. Henry Blake wears a gold Rolex Submariner. A watch that didn't exist during the Korean War! I guess he chose to wear his personal watch and ignore the props department.

NCIS: lots of high end watches and the characters swap them out fairly regularly through the seasons. All watches are the actors personal pieces. No prop watches.

I was watching the latest season of Silent Witness on the BBC recently and David Caves (Jack) was wearing Bremont. He's obviously a watch guy, was wearing a Casio calculator watch in the early seasons and various other watches over the years and something different most weeks recently, so they're obviously his own.

The best shows have been Mad Men and Succession though for sure.

There was a Submariner Smurf, and a Cartier Tank and Paneri, both in gold on a show called White Lotus too (according to my wife).

I look at the wrist in public and on TV. It’s actually pretty cool when you can see it. I always point it out and say how cool his/her watch is and they smile from ear to ear because it’s usually the first time anyone notices lol. I’m a teacher and saw a parent had on the exact same watch as me

Comedians have long been notable collectors. I’m really liking the diversity of Jimmy O Yang’s collection . . . He’s not collecting to flex but for the love. Saw him rocking a Kurono Toki at one pt and was like “that’s a dude that doesn’t care about flexing . . . He just likes watches”

I'd be so happy if Jamie Farr / Klinger had gone 'method' and bought a 26mm Date-Just with diamond indicies to compliment his twin-sets!
