IS the JLC Reverso a . . .

This watch is often categorized as one of the quintessential dress watches (along with the Cartier tank). But it was historically a sports watch (granted a gentry sports watch) . . . I def have seen posts here and other forums (and on Youtube) that suggest the Reverso is only taken out on special occasions, for dress functions, in a suit . . . But I'm quickly becoming of the mind that the JLC Reverso is part of a growing category of watches that could be an anything but water everyday watch that is equally sporty, casual, and dressy (with a bit of classic quirk). But what say you? Perceptions of what a watch is certainly can change over time. There are a lot of Reversos out there but for this poll let's stick with the classic Duoface Small Seconds https://www.jaeger-lecoultre.com/us-en/watches/reverso/reverso-classic/reverso-classic-duoface-small-seconds-stainless-steel-q2458422

A JLC reverse is on my grail list

It's always been a sports watch.

This and the Cartier Tank can be worn just about anywhere. I've often thought about getting one for just that reason.

This is true. There was a time when a lot of men would wear a tie and a hat (and often a jacket) regardless of what industry or field they worked in. Now we have CEOs in flip flops and some of the wealthiest bosses in the world dress like they're going to a luau.

The Reverso watches I think look great with jeans. They’ve gained enough old school cachet that they are good dress watches. Their moonphase watches are dress watches that can look good with nice casual clothes, but really they are pretty dressy. I do a lot of water activities, and wouldn’t wear them for that, like all of my leather band watches and I wouldn’t wear a Reverso when I’ll be exposed to a lot of dirt and dust because of their complex case - so I guess they’ll get left at home for my polo matches :)

I love the look of the classic Reverso, and would love to have one in my collection, but I don't see me having many opportunities to wear one. I have a Reverso Squadra Hometime, which is a bit "sportier" than the classic Reverso, but I still don't find myself wearing it very often as it still feels a bit too dressy for my t-shirts and jeans lifestyle. I suspect that a classic Reverso would see even less wrist time, as it definitely has dress vibes in my mind.

That's a cool one as well . . . but as a shorter guy I have to think vertically vs. wide, so it's the classic Reverso for me haha.

I wouldn’t wear it for any serious sport but I can at least walk the dog wearing it😊

I wear my Reverso with almost any outfit (with the exception of swim wear) 🤷‍♂️
