Tudor FXD Strap Comparison

Thought this may help others out there. I've been on the hunt for a suitable replacement to the OEM velcro strap. Still haven't found it, but I'm starting to get a little collection going. Here is a comparison shot between 2 third party straps alongside the Tudor one, all in the same light. Hope it helps!

Which have you liked the most so far, outside of the OEM?

If you haven't already, I'd look at ZuluAlpha, especially their original rifle sling strap.

Many dudes I know with an FXD like them.

The Tactical Frog have been the most comfortable so far, cheapest to boot too. I'm not convinced their velcro will last, though a rubber keeper will prolong it, and $20 will solve the problem entirely.

I just wish they made more color options.

I want to like the yorkshire one, but I had to stitch-rip, then cut about a half-inch of velcro off the (right) side to make it not interfere with the bend at the metal clip. All inside the strap and not visible though when worn. It is also still very stiff... time will tell.

I'll take a look, thanks for the suggestion

What’s wrong with the OEM strap for you? I find it very nice and comfortable.

Erika's marine straps are my favs. Wasn't too crazy about the velcro strap.

Nothing is wrong with the OEM strap. It's just that I've realized I'm not the biggest fan of NATOs (sacrilege I know...) so I'm "stuck" with velcro or elastic for the FXD for the moment, and fine with it!

But that means the OEM strap-style is preferred, and the OEM strap as a shelf-life shorter than non-velcro straps. I've got a MN23, so I think they fixed the original issues with the straps, but velcro doesn't last forever.

So I'm just looking for a more affordable option when the strap it came with needs to be retired. Rather than pony up $150 every time I need a replacement. That and I'd like a little variety, but there are not many options out there I've found so far.

I like the look of Erica's, but I'm not sure if the style is for me, and they're expensive.

Elastic straps I've tried so far either have to be too tight to hold the watch, or they slip around. Also for the FXD specifically I need special removable hardware, so it is hard to find compatible straps.

Erika's makes straps just for the fxd, you can remove the hardware.

Do you have to keep it tight to stop the watch from moving around? Or is there enough rigidity (inelasticity) in the strap to hold form while it isn't cinched down?

The cheap MN-style straps I've tried in the past were to stretchy to hold the watch upright unless they were throttling my wrist.

Mine stays nice and snug and you can adjust the tightness just right. A lot better than the cheaper Amazon brands that lose their elasticity after a few uses.

Yeah I understand what you mean now, I had a similar thinking.

Perhaps consider the NDC strap? This ones the “real” deal it’s from the original material that the OG marine nationale used back in the day and has extra hardware with it .

I first tried it with my Submariner but the watch felt too heavy , but with the Pelagos it’s perfect due to the lightness
