Just wanted to share my thoughts about my Steeldive SKX homage,
I have owned/handled plenty of original Seiko SKX007's and SKX009's over the years, I'm gona say it...This is a better watch right? with everything considered movement, lens, bezel insert and of course the price it's an awesome watch, is this a case where a homage stuffs it's influencer?

The die hard seikophiles don't like it when Seiko gets beat by a Seiko powered microbrand.
It could be it’s a seiko in every sense. They’re a great brand for quality and price point, I have a Tiffany blue turtle and it is superb!
Is the lume just as good? I’ve noticed on a lot of the lower priced higher spec watches the lume suffers a bit.
I have an Addiesdive MY-08, which is homaging the Seiko 6105-8110, Capt. Willard, as the Steeldive SD1970 does. The MY-08 is an improvement on the older Seiko it's copying, but like the SKX homage you're enjoying, it is Seiko themselves that are due most of the credit. The NH35 movement is the heart of these machines, and it is advancements outweigh the other additions of the sapphire crystal and, at least in the case of the MY-08, the lumed bezel insert. That Steeldive does look like a sweet watch, and certainly the perfect stand-in for situations where one does not wish to chance nicking their original SKXs. I'll have to check that one out myself.

Lume on the SD1970 is even brighter than seiko turtle SPRE93, and I know that’s saying a lot.

The version I'm showing is one of the SD1996 possible Steeldive variants, the lume is fine as good as the Seiko I reckon, It is the watch Seiko should have made or even been smart enough to re-introduce when they discontinued the SKX instead of bringing out all those dress SKX's
