Tag Heuer x Bamford x Team Ikuzawa at Tag Heuer Ginza boutique

Hi watchcrunch community!

I finally had the time to drop by my local Tag Heuer boutique to check out a very special piece.

A limited of 100 pieces and Japan exclusive: Tag Heuer x Bamford x Team Ikuzawa Carrera 42mm

The boutique in Ginza, Tokyo had just 1 piece left when I visited. The sales rep was very kind and patient while showing me the watch.

It’s a nice piece and the proportions are pretty decent for a 42mm watch. It fits my 16.75cm wrist nicely.

According to the sales rep, the piece I was viewing was the last available one for open purchase. It was very tempting and I almost pulled the trigger on it. But the watch didn’t really evoke that “buy me” feeling for me. Also my fiancée said no too haha. Sometimes in watch collecting there are those pieces that just makes you “wow I must have it!” This unfortunately is not one for me.

I hope the watch goes to someone who truly wants it and not a reseller. It’s a very unique piece and for the right fan who appreciates these 3 brands coming together on this piece will enjoy it.

This watch looks simply stunning! What a great job from #tagheuer and George #bamford 🤩

I’m saluting your calm and resolve not to buy it. Must have felt odd when leaving the store , but I imagine so happy the following morning. At least that’s how I feel in these situations.

Haha! I went there with no intention of purchasing it at all. HOWEVER, when the sales rep said this is the last piece, that made me really consider it. But ultimately, I just did not get that feeling to purchase it. Even after holding it in hand and wearing it, it didn't really do much for me. For the right person who is a fan of all 3 companies, it is a very special piece. I'm just not one of them.

That’s how I felt about the Japan-exclusive limited edition mother of pearl Carrera that I tried on in that very store a few weeks ago: beautiful, tempting because it’s one of only 300, but ultimately not for me.

But if it were in the new Glassbox case, I’m not sure I could have resisted!
