It’s crunch time…I have 12 hours to decide between a NTTD or new model blue Heritage Seamaster

I have the opportunity to pick up a full set NTTD on bracelet never worn with 4 years left on the warranty for 1000 under Watch charts “used excellent” value. It means I will have to sell my 300 heritage on omega Mesh with 4.25 years left on warranty. I really love my 300 but have always lusted after the NTTD. I cannot rationalize having two 6-7k divers. Do I keep my trusty, low key 300 heritage that has a better movement or sell it for the flashy NTTD titanium sexiness? Truly a 1st world problem I know… The rest of my collection has been whittled down to a Seiko mod field watch and a Speedy day/date in blue.

That's a really tough choice. Is it almost an even swap or do you need to add money. If adding money how much?

·

It depends on how much I sell the 300 on mesh for. I got the 300 for a really good deal so I shouldn’t lose money on it. That will off set most of the cost of the NTTD. Best case scenario I actually make a few hundred profit on the transition… worst case I end up paying 500-1000 to get into a substantially more expensive watch.

The only two Omega divers I want to own. Tough call, but if it were me, I would keep the one I owned (whichever one that happened to be).

If it's an even swap it's a hard decision. I'm bias because I own a 300 Heritage in blue and love it. It's probably a more versatile watch. I think for every day, or nearly everyday the NTTD would fall a bit short in that department. If I had a large watch collection then the NTTD might have a place.

·

For me the easy call is the NTTD. How many watches do you see that you want to buy with a brown dial? None for me. But I can think of a handful of blue dials that I'd be happy with real fast. The NTTD color is just so different. It stands out. To me that's real cool.

Love vs Lust?? In relationships, we all know which prevails/endures but when it comes to watches - all bets are off! Hmmm I completely agree with my buddy, Craig @whystopatone , and grab that NTTD any day of the week. It’s a damn beautiful watch and different than any SM. Happy hunting! 🤙❤️

Yeah they are the only two I want too. I have a rule about luxury watches… I don’t buy unless the deal is good enough that I could sell and recoup my $$. I bought the 300 because I found it for a screaming deal (think dealer cost). I never thought I would have the opportunity to own a NTTD because the deals weren’t there. I was actively hunting for both of these watches…. I just found the 300 first.

Absolutely. The first time I saw one in person I was smitten. Photos don’t do it justice. Also it is so much thinner and lighter on the wrist. I know a lot of people associate weight with value but in my world (cars and glassblowing) heavy is cheap light and lean is expensive.

I say both man have the affair but make sure your old faithful doesn’t find out. Are we still talking about watches here 😅

That’s why I love my 300. It’s a sleeper… it’s a classy under the radar watch with real chops. A killer movement and totally at home with any suit… tailored or wet 😂

It’s the type of watch a real life James Bond might wear.

Hahaha. Yes definitely. I thought about that… I could sell the Speedy instead of the 300 but the actual human wife calls it the “pretty watch” and occasionally steals it when my back is turned.

Yeah me and Vu @AlohaBrah21 tried it on (What's up Vu?) and it was a dream. I agreed with you. I want one. I might have to sell my blue SMP for it.

What a conundrum...

Keep what you have, I've learned that what you want may end up being disappointing.

The NTTD I've heard is a bit too lightweight/weightless and most fall out of love with it after a while.

·

I get the allure of the NTTD, but long-term I'm gonna be happier with the 300 Heritage.

I had a brown dial & bezel diver & spec-wise it was my best watch, but I just didn't love it. I ended up gifting it to my nephew for his graduation.

I've since bought a blue dial GMT & will likely buy a white/blue accent Aqua Terra homage.

Brown is just not my thing, even if it is a NTTD Seamaster.

Well what does the wife say about this choice you have to make?!

Tough call, the 300 Heritage would just get it for me.

It might still win out. I’m going to wear them both for a few months before I decide. I’m into both of them for bellow list so I don’t stand to lose much money either way.

I took all y’all’s dirty advice and cheated on my 300 while she was out of town on a Spa trip (back at Omega for warranty work). Here’s a risqué shot of the mistress…

Nice, 2nd Gen mesh bracelet too (better), love it!

I’ve gone for this combo for a mere £1k!

That's the 2nd time you've made me jealous today 😅I've just sold my 2531.80 and regret it deeply !

Never sell.

Never sell.

Buying, Selling and trading is fundamental to all of my hobbies. It’s how I evolve as an enthusiast. If I never sold or traded I wouldn’t be able to buy/acquire.

Keep it, the NTTD is just a little too much of something, in my opinion. I was super hot to get one then saw it in the metal, just wasn't for me

I picked up the NTTD a few hours ago. I’m going to keep them both for a few months and then decide.
