New Korean Field Watch in the Wild!
Okay, not exactly the wild because today "the field" consists of a little weekend shopping! 😂
Retail battlefield aside, this is a beautiful watch. It checks all the boxes for quality materials, the lume is solid and the proportions and finishing are just right. The included silicone strap is buttery soft and not a lint magnet. I love how the 36mm case hugs my wrist, making it really comfortable to wear.
I appreciate that this watch is a little something different in the space. Dirty Dozen iterations and modern field watches are a dime a dozen, so I love that Vaer looked to a different part of military history for this one. The commemorative caseback etching is truly beautiful.
I've been editing my watches and my long-term goal is to convert my entire core watch collection to solar pieces (not easy with a 6" wrist). So I was stoked to find Vaer and their sub 40mm solar offerings. I've also got a DS4 solar diver from them, but that's for another day.

Citizen does make some nice watches! A lot of them are too large for my wrist unfortunately. 😞
I strongly considered the Citizen Chandler since it's 36mm, but something about the dial design is too blocky for my taste. I've heard great things about it, though.

And here I am feeling tempted by the Tradition! If they make it in a solar variant, I might pick it up. I was talking with Vaer on IG and they said they have more solar releases planned for 2024. 👍🏽
That watch has been on my short list for a while now… I’ve got a couple Vaer’s and love them both. They are just so damn good! Tough and legible, go anywhere, do everything watches! An excellent brand

Vaer has a nice selection of good looking watches and I could see picking up a few more over time, but I'm going to wait for more solar models and thin the existing herd before I bring in any new additions.
