First Watch and First Inspiration

Back in 2004 my dad got this Omega on a family vacation down in the Bahamas. I always loved the tropical blue the dial emitted. 4 years later, same place in the Bahamas and he got me this Seiko 5. He knew I loved his watch and wanted one just like it. He wore this Omega everywhere’s vacation, lawn mowing, my sporting events. It’s basically become the “Dad” watch in my mind. I didn’t really get back into watches until the pandemic hit. First thing I did was put a new band on the Seiko and it started back up immediately. In recent years I heard my dad complain that he didn’t like changing the battery on this watch every five years so for his birthday this year I got him the auto version of this seamaster as a thank you for everything he’s done for me. He then turned around and handed this watch to me as an early wedding gift. He got it serviced before doing so but I’m glad all the scratches he put on the bezel are still there. These two watches will stay in my collection forever.

Love the sublte waves on the Omega dial. If there was a mod dial like that for my blue #duro I would be right on it.
