Tudor fxd

I have found my dream watch and I wasn’t even looking.
the back story…. I was wearing a black bay black 58 and traded it for a 36mm date just. I knew I had made a good investment move but that was it. the watch was way to small for my 7.75 inch wrist. I tried to love it but sadly no, and by a stretch of luck my ad got in a black bay pro.

So I promptly traded for the pro and after a few weeks realised I had make a mistake. Nothing against the pro it just wasn’t for me. That and it was right at 2 to 3 seconds slow. I have a stupid rule… I can’t stand a slow running watch. I know I know it’s stupid but it is a pet peave of mine.

As luck would have it… I was in my ad the other day and we were talking about grail watches. For me that would be a Tudor 9401 or 9411 mn snowflake. He said hang on and walks into the back and out he comes with a new 22 Fxd. He tells me this was a special order and Only the second one they had seen. Yeah the guy that ordered it also had a Rolex come in and they hadn’t been able to get a hold of him.

He offered to trade my pro (which i wasn’t loving, for it). I looked down and there it was a modern snow flake with all the mn providence’s to back it up.

My vintage dream in a real modern package.  So as you can see form the pics I have an Fxd.

p.s. incase you were wondering it runs at +.5 to +1 in every position.

The hinderer is a favorite for sure man. That an a custom Emerson 7 are my main carry.

That watch is a beauty. Congrats. Seems like everyone who gets one can’t stop wearing it. Hoping for one in my future.🤞

Congrats! I recently acquired the FXD as well - my first Tudor and luxury purchase. I am in love with this watch. While researching this model before purchasing, I came across a fair amount of criticism directed at the fixed lugs and bi-directional bezel. I view them as features that add to the functionality, uniqueness (can't think of another watch that has both these things), and overall charm. And not to mention, they're essential features for a watch designed for Marine Nationale mil-spec underwater navigation, a fact I suspect was lost on some of the criticizers. Normally, I strongly favor bracelets over straps, but I don't find myself missing a bracelet at all when I've got the FXD on. Enjoy your new purchase - I have certainly enjoyed mine!

Thank you man… I’m glad you got one as well.
Honestly it is the quintessential tool watch of the 21st century in my opinion. It is incredibly purpose driven. For a specific group with a specific task, but that is what is so endearing about it. I deal with unexploded ordnance and the countdown timer works wonderfully for me. all in all it is a specific watch that I’ve bonded with and found use that a traditional diver couldnt give me.

It is a proper watch right. I'm rocking the rubber strap it comes with here. Didn't like it much to begin with but it begins to flatten out and I quite like it now.

My runs about -1s per day.

Countdown bezel rocks.

That one is on my short list. Congrats!

Mega you should try it honestly I know it’s a cliché but it does wear different than the numbers.

·

Sounds like the watch found its rightful owner. Congrats!

·

Hahahaha…. I hear ya in that one. But it gives you an excuse to buy more straps not that we need one.

I can't add anything to what's been said (or that I've said before about the FXD) but I love the story and I'm happy to see more people enjoying the FXD. Yours looks amazing on that strap! Huge congrats 🍻

Thank you sir. The story is one of the things that make this thing of ours truly interesting.

I haven't personally noticed any scrunching on mine - will try with a couple of other straps. I get what you're saying about the BB58 and Sub if you're looking for a hardcore tool watch; the FXD definitely fits that bill perfectly.

I'm fortunate enough to have all three watches you mention, and love being able to switch it up - but if I was forced to choose just one, that would be a very hard choice.

Please do share a picture of all 3 (bb, submariner, FXD) side by side! it’ll be lovely to see!

Agreed please do.

I love my BB Pro and I’ve also been waiting for the FXD, but it’s as a present for my cousin.

I personally don’t want an FXD, not because I don’t like it, I love it very much as a watch, but it’s not for me.

This watch is a tank! A true tool watch! Congrats on your purchase🤝

thank you sir. I do get your point. Not everything works for everybody. It’s alway interesting to me how the perception and view of any watch is so personal and subjective. I’ve got big wrists and for the longest believed I couldn’t wear say a 36mm date just or explorer 1. I know now I can forcing myself to do it. I can but it is not my preference for sure.
