Yeah, that's my index/pointer fingernail next to this tiny watch that my wife's father gave to her in 1990 for her high school graduation. She has tiny wrists, clearly. I happened upon it yesterday when searching through an old desk. The stats of this behemoth:
Model: 3220-S07149
Case: 18mm
Thickness: 5.7mm
Band at lug: 8mm
Weight: 30g
(Other measurements upon request. And don't get fresh.)
This thing is crazy small. I'd seen small ladies watches but never one this size!
I'm going to open it up and see if I can find a battery for it to get it running, just for kicks. In the meantime...
Here's a pic next to my 40mm Mondaine:
I was able to clip the ends of the band together to fit my 7" wrist (i.e., banana for scale):
Additional pics.
It's good that it doesn't have a date window because she'd never be able to see it now! That said, it's amazingly readable at any reasonable distance - even without my +1.75 reading glasses - due to the contrast of the hands and dial.
Perhaps experienced watch collectors are saying, "So what, this is not new," but for me it is and maybe some others? Anyway, just wanted to share a fun thing on a Friday.
Cheers! 🍻

That Citizen is an eye test.
Typical of ladies watches form the 40's through the 90's.
Oh goodness…it fits adoringly on your big man wrist. 😂
Another squint worthy piece from the land of the rising son.
Yep!
JDM Seiko Taro Tanaka ladies high beat. I couldn't resist buying this watch. It was 12.00! if this was a mens Taro Tanaka. it would have gone for 600+ Crazy

That is small, to be sure! The crystal looks faceted.
I can pass this Citizen through my wedding ring, and that's even with the band folded over!

Taro Tanaka introduced these Faceted Crystals to his JDM Vanac's and KS models. They made it on a few US release as well
Reminds me of how phones evolved from being huge to ultra small and then started going back to bigger sizes again.
