Kurono Tokyo’s Midnight Blue

This is the first Kurono Tokyo from Hajime Asaoke to appear in public (on Asaoke’s Twitter feed).

It didn’t feature in the first release that followed, making it to market as part of the later second series. This version was released for the domestic market in Japan, followed about one month later by a version for international distribution.

JDM versions feature English language script on the cartouche. International versions use Japanese Katakana script.

At 37mm of fluid lines, it’s a cute little watch.

It’s simple and kind of an antidote after years of PCs, AC, chronographs and the like. More into simple three handers these days, and maybe the odd GMT.

Omg, I like it better that it says kurono in English!!

I never knew they had this. Thanks for sharing and now I need to go on a hunt for this.

They pop up now and again. I bought this from a chap in HK who I’ve been back to a couple of times.

Just got the Toki yesterday. Just beautiful. Didn’t know they made it in Midnight Blue.

That’s such a little beauty. Hearty congratulations. Quiet little watches like this whisper good things.

Funny you say that but it’s probably the “loudest” watch I have. Time to live a little and strut.

Yeah saw your post. I like the toki more and more - the simplicity of it. The pink is nice. Is it pink or more salmon pink

I’m not sure if sharing those particulars in open comments is allowed. Even if it is I won’t. If PMs work here you can write and I’ll let you know. 👍🏼

It’s a little of both, depending on the lighting

Hi. Am on the road so replying on the fly.

I can’t remember where the strap is from but it was the last piece the merchant had at that particular time. It cost about a third of a Forstner.
